This Monday is Memorial Day, and many of us will honor those who served in the US military and gave their lives in the line of duty.
I personally spend this time thinking about all those people, as well as everyone who cleared a path for me personally to be afforded all of the opportunities that I have in this beautiful (but complicated) country.
If you want something to read this weekend, here are some books:
“The Women” - by Kristen Hanna
“The Escape Artist - The Man Who Broke Out of Auschwitz to Warn the World” - by Jonathan Freedland
“And There Was Light” - the biography of Abraham Lincoln by Jon Meacham
“Meditations” - by Marcus Aurelius
“Small Things Like These” by Claire Keegan
If you need some music, listen to the album “Freedom Weaver”, the 1959 European Tour Recordings of Sonny Rollins, one of the greatest living American Artists.
Let’s do this!
